Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi

June 15th, 2007 · No Comments

Chandni Chowk in Old Delhi puts a unique stamp on the Delhi’s heritage. The busy crowded lanes and the maze of shops gives very “in India” feeling. Thousands of people find employment here in small jobs, hopeful to earn enough for the day, week, and month. The shops exhibit the classic Indian shopping mix: an Aggrawal Sweet Store between an Ahuja Tent House and a Singh Auto Repair.

Here’s a well-shot video by Bina. The ending is at the Delhi Sheraton, which was then hosting Russian President Vladimir Putin. By the way, if you have photos or videos or interesting info on Chandni Chowk, please share with us and we will post it here with due credit to you.
